Next to Walkerville, and overlooking Wilsons Promontory, this camping area offers shady campsites set among tall Banksia near the shores of Waratah Bay.

The spectacular unpatrolled surf beach is just a short stroll from the campground and is best suited for rockpooling, fishing, surfing and coastal walks - it is not recommended for swimming. The nearest patrolled beaches are Sandy Point and Venus Bay.

Campground facilities include non-flush toilets, communal fireplaces and picnic tables. There is no drinking water available and you need to bring your own firewood.

The campground is 2WD accessible and 17 of the 34 campsites are suitable for campervans, caravans or trailers.

A maximum of six people can be accommodated per site.

Directions

Bear Gully Campground is located in South Gippsland - two and a half hours drive south east of Melbourne. Follow signs towards Walkerville, and turn on to Walkerville South Road before turning right on to Bear Gully Road.

Cancellation Policy

30 days or more prior notice to the booking arrival date, 50% of the applicable fees per night will be forfeited. Less than 30 days prior notice to the booking arrival date, 100% of the applicable fees per night will be forfeited. All bookings and payments are non-transferable to another party/person. Camping date transfers may be made up to 2 days prior to arrival depending on availability. Accommodation date transfers may be made up to 7 days prior to arrival depending on availability. Booking cancellations and date transfers can be completed via the Manage My Booking link in your reservation confirmation email.
